Stockholm, Sweden & Berlin, Germany

The last two important ports of call on our Baltic cruise were the capital cities of Stockholm, Sweden and Berlin, Germany. While in Stockholm, the family visited the Old Town, where we saw the Riddarholmskyrkan, an amazing medieval church, as well as the changing of the guard at the Royal Palace. Most of Sweden, including Stockholm, was not destroyed during either World War, so the buildings date back to the 13th century.

This was quite the opposite of Berlin, which was annihilated during World War II. We spent the day on a walking tour, where we go to see parts of the preserved Berlin Wall, the Reichstag, the memorial to Jews killed during the war, and of course Brandenburg Gate.

Each port, the cruise ship had traditional food from the different countries, so I was able to try schnitzel, wurst, and some excellent Riesling wines. To see more photos from these amazing cities, click here.
