In November, I was privileged to fly to Bariloche, on the west side of Argentina, bordering Chile. Bariloche is most famous for hiding Nazis after World War II and there is a rich German heritage here as evidenced by the German architecture and food (lots of wild boar, deer and squirrel on the menus), but it also has some amazing scenery.
I spent a day in Villa La Angostura, the Seven Lakes and San Martin de los Andes, then a few days exploring the Nahuel Huapi Lake and the vast surrounding mountain range with its breath-taking panoramic views.
