Swine Flu Epidemic

I think I picked the ideal weekend to go to Mendoza. Yesterday, the mayor of Buenos Aires declared a state of emergency and shut down all of the schools because of the outbreak of swine flu in the city. Depending on what newspaper you read, there have been between 20-30 deaths and thousands are infected. Throughout the city, everyone is wearing masks and the stores are sold out of hand gel. The government is recommending everyone to avoid leaving their homes for the next week and, when outside, do not get within one meter of another person - even in the supermarket check out lines! If the situation does not improve, the mayor is threatening to shut down restaurants and discos as well. It is winter here and it is our natural flu season, but now we have two strains to deal with.
