A 1.5 hour bus journey outside of Bogota brings you to Lake Guatavita (Laguna de Guatavita), a tranquil weekend hangout for residents of the city to enjoy a short escape from the chaos of the city. There are small and quaint parillas (steakhouses) and restaurants bordering the shore and I rented a canoe for a few hours to enjoy some time on the lake. Tomorrow I'm off to Montserrate before heading to Guayaguil, Ecuador and finally, Lima, Peru. For more photos of today's trip, click here.
