It's a known fact that Asia loves its Sunday brunches, especially on holidays like Easter and New Year's Day. I've been privileged to have these smorgasbords in Hanoi, Vietnam; Hong Kong, Bangkok, and now in Manila at Spiral Restaurant inside the Sofitel Hotel. Spiral was, hands down, the best buffet I've ever experienced in the world.
From the decor to the ambience to the live music and, of course, to the selection and quality of food, Spiral blew me away. A seafood fan, I was amazed with the shucked oysters brought in from France that day, the five different types of caviar available and the freshness of the King Crab offered.
The buffet offered a wide spread of cuisine from Korean hot pots, to Vietnamese pho, to Italian pasta, to Argentine grilled meats, to Peking Duck from China. On top of it, there was bottomless Spanish and Italian wine, French champagne and beer, giving me an incentive to stay until they were prying the wine glass from my hand.
